Leadership
Led a team of 24 employees and third-party consultants. Managed site evaluations, lease documents, design documents, CD's, and approvals of 1,114 stores since 2000. Realized employee retention of 10+ years, significantly exceeding industry benchmark standards.
Implemented Best Practices
Developed standard operating procedures, and financial controls to create success and mitigate project risks. Efficiently optimized practices for in-site evaluations, estimated projects for use in financial proformas, contributed to the leasing process with regard to design and construction articles and developed lease exhibits. Introduced progressive, effective practices that reduced project timelines from site selection through store opening.
Collaboration
Managed collaboration with Real Estate, Legal, Store Planning, and Construction Teams, aligning the strategy and objectives to achieve new store goals.
Integrated Technology
Sourced and procured a database application "Sitefolio", in collaboration with IT teams which enabled consolidation of efforts and seamless project execution. Results included increased efficiency, automation, and productivity while reducing project costs by centralizing data, prioritizing tasks, and streamlining workflows.
Managed 3rd Party Teams
Adapted strategy to meet the needs and financial goals of the organization by reducing in-house staff and transferring roles to external resources, realizing a lean, sustainable strategy for future growth. Training and education were essential to ensure compliance with company protocols and policies and adherence to standard practices which ensured efficiency while utilizing external resources and elevated ROI.
Merger and Acquisitions
Contributed to opening 65 new stores post-acquisition of Christmas Tree Shops in 2000, 125+ Buy Buy Baby new stores since 2007, and 80 new stores for Cost Plus World Market since acquisition in 2007.
Distribution and Fulfillment Centers
Deployed strategies to design, build, and open new distribution and fulfillment centers across the US. Partnered with legal and real estate teams to conduct lease agreements, design-build contracts, and facilitate partnerships with construction teams, realizing 3-1MM+ sq. ft. locations over a 2-year period.
Corporate Office Properties
Oversaw and managed the design, office services, and facilities maintenance teams for 5 contiguous corporate office properties totaling 535k sq. ft.
